![]() ![]() ![]() I know he has the ability to write compelling YA. Did anyone else read it and feel the same?Īnd, I guess, my most important question, is the second book any better? I feel immense Uglies loyalty that makes me want to pick up the second book in hopes that it gets better. It was almost like it was ghost written, it's hard to believe this is the same writer who spent entire chapters just describing the nature outside as Tally travelled on hoverboard. The insta-love happened in the space of a few chapters. The world he set up is so fascinating, but he proceeds to ensure that the characters spend almost no time in it. The characters felt so thin and barely sketched out. The plot rushed along so fast that you barely had time to get your bearings. ![]() I didn't even realize they were connected until they name dropped Tally Youngblood! Anyways, throughout the book I found myself thoroughly disappointed by the writing, and found it subpar to his other work. I was a big fan of the Uglies trilogy and picked this one up from the bookstore because it had his name on it. So I just finished reading Imposters by Scott Westerfeld. ![]()
